Cd release party

Howdy folks. It's been a while but I've got great news. We're having our cd release party at the Ark in Ann Arbor. The date, June 11th doors open at 730 show at 800. We're going to be giving away some great door prizes and much more. Tickets are selling and we expect a very good crowd so buy 'em early. You can buy tickets at www.theark.org or many other locations on the web and in person.

I'd also like to say OMG, Larrivee guitars just sent me my new Brazilian D-60 model and what a monster. I never would have believed a guitar out of the box could beat my Hoss. But it did. This one was just for me and it must have been touched by God at some point because it's like a choir of Angels. So clear, so powerful and so much depth of the tone. I will be playing it this coming weekend at our shows in Branson Mo and Silver Dollar City. www.silverdollarcity.com

Come to the Ark show and be the first to have the new Lonesome County cd. I promise it will rock you like nothin' else can.

Up to date.

Well how's everyone doing? Freezing? It's cold again and we found out first hand how bad winter could be. On our most recent road trip we were in WV and PA, and let me tell ya it was bad. It started snowing just as we got ready to hit the road and didn't stop til the next morning. By then we had already driven through one giant white out. Mi to Va it snowed. And it snowed. We did however have fantastic crowds that kept us warm and playing long into the night. The purple fiddle was awesome and we have new video that will be going up on our youtube slot and on our website. I hope ya'll will stop by the county and check it out.

We've played a benefit this week as well and it met and exceeded it's goal by 400% which is awesome. Those of you there know what a blast we had. Those that weren't missed out. The band played two sets of music and had the audience primed for a last scorcher. It was so much fun.

More news to come so check back often.

Web cast

Hey everyone I just wanted to give an update on the webcast. Due to back to back nasty colds not only has studio work been put on hold but the webcast as well. We will update and put up information on the bluegrass blog when it's back on. We hope you understand and will continue to hold on for just a while longer.

One more thing

Lee Kauffman is the best banjo player I have ever seen. The most versatile, most intense and most ass kickin ever. Just so that's clear.

Studio news.

Hey folks, for all that read this you are in for a treat. I just got home from the studio where LC's fiddle player Marty Somberg was laying down some hotter than hell tracks. And I'll just say H*** S*** I have not hear the tunes with bass or fiddle until tonight and move or be run over by the train. I watched Lee step up to the plate and flat cut it, and all eight cylinders are firing baby hold to your hat.

I'd also like to give a brief shout out to Larrivee. Thanks for the strings and jackets. You guys rock.

New tune

Hey all, thought I'd let you know of a new thing we're going to have going on. Our very own monthly live feed web cast. We're going to be playing at a local coffee shop, the stonehouse cafe. And we're broadcasting from there, live. Our site will be the place to watch on the new page that will be going up in the next few weeks. Of course anyone wanting to participate in the concert event is welcome to watch at the coffee house. They can probably get about 125 people in there.

The coffee shop has a website of it's own with directions and an online menu of all their delicious items and coffee selection. www.stonehousecafe.com

We're doing more studio work this weekend so look for an update and maybe............a new audio clip.

And we've got some pretty big news that we will put up in a few short weeks. Stay tuned.

Studio and other fun events.

Hey all, just wanted to let people know what has been going on here. We've been in the process of our new studio recording and man, you wait til you hear these boys pick. I am in the best bluegrass band with some of the best guys you could ever meet. I will let you know that we've gotten about 3/4 of the way through and this stuff is hot. Everyone gets the feel right on these new tunes. I've written five or six that will be on here and if you love drive, I got what you need. Lee nails it. When him and marty lock in it's hotter than a firecracker. Kevin, our youngest member has been really getting his work out the way quick we've taken to calling him one take Frank. What an amazing young talent. He's by far the best mandolin player LC has ever had. And an amazing singer to boot. As soon as we have a tune finished and mastered I will be placing sound clips on the web. It will be a great opportunity for everyone to see what this band is capable of.
